A couple of new quilts.

I was supposed to have these quilts done by Christmas for a friend's daughters, but I just couldn't do it. My friend was understanding and told me not to worry about it. Between sickness and just crazy life I was finally able to get them done a month later.
Pile of squares for the first quilt

Took me 7 hours JUST to rag this baby and I had 2 to do....

All done

Then I had another quilt to do for the same friend, but this time it was just for her. It came out so cute and all the different fabrics blended nicely.

All done

The back. I do not do patterns on the backs because I would drive myself crazy. However this ended up having an H in it. LOL

Just a fraction of the lint that comes off one of these blankets.

A new Quilt and more Elvis

So I decided to make a quilt for my dad using my mom's jeans. I hope he likes it and more important uses it. LOL

I only used 4 squares of denim on top.

Now for some new Elvis antics..

It is cold out here!!

So many crafts, so little time!

I have a scrapbook I want to finish and 3 or 4 quilts I need to get done. I have been going back and forth for a couple of days which one I should do. Finally last night, I made a decision. I am making a quilt for Lauren's speech therapist. She is pregnant with a boy and due in October. This for her was also a very surprising fourth pregnancy and oh how I can relate to that. In fact she had absolutely no baby stuff left, I told her that was her down fall. Most women know that you should always keep some sort of baby item or it will definitely lead to a pregnancy. So back to the quilt, I have a ton of baby boy type fabrics left over from other projects that I am using. I figured I might as well do the project that I don't have to put out anymore money out on, plus I don't know how long she will still be coming. So last night I cut out 218  4 1/2 inch squares, I was a bit sore after that since my Chiari doesn't like me bending over a lot. However I told it to shove it and continued, something I sort of regretted last night while trying to get to sleep and my shoulders and neck were on fire. LOL

I am doing a little redecorating around the blog and trying to pull in more readers. I am not looking to make money, just maybe be able to connect to others that have similar stories. So, please feel free to share my blog with other people who might enjoy it. ☺

Just because I am a glutton for punishment..........

Meet our new family member. Little Lucy Bear joined our family on Thursday. She is a four month old Puggle. Half Pug half Beagle. Her owner had to get rid of her due to finances. She is sweet and the kids love her. Before you ask, no she is not potty trained, but we are working on it. She has had only a handful of accidents in the house. She doesn't really bark, and is an avid leaf hunter. LOL She is great with the kids and could care less about the cats. She just kind of goes with the flow if things.

So I have the fabric cut for my next quilt. It will be for Allison and I think it will turn out to be huge. LOL Oh well, then it will grow with her.

The very wrinkled khaki, I would have ironed it, but there was just too much of it.

The light green striped fabric.

Okay, do they seriously need to stamp their name on the fabric? I know where I got it from.

The pretty flower fabric and the tower o' squares. LOL

Now, I know what you are thinking, that isn't the same template, and you are correct! Good eye! This is a new larger template made from a heavy cardboard. Since the quilt was bigger I decided to make the squares 2 inches bigger. Stay tuned for more on this exciting turn of events. LOL
